How did you get into leather working and how long have you been at it?

I've been a machinist for over 20 years and always wanted to be able to incorporate leather into some of my metal projects. So, about 3 years ago I finally took the time to learn by making some small projects. I think my background in manufacturing has helped me be able to pick it up faster.

What is your creative process? What is your inspiration for your work?

To create things my inspiration comes from different leather items I've seen, I notice certain design elements that I like, I keep a notebook where I write ideas down on. Then I decide what I want my project to do functionally, and what I want it to look like. The design process is a lot of trial an error until I am satisfied with a design, which I then make a pattern for so I can duplicate it in the future.

What is your most favorite piece you’ve created?

One of my favorite pieces is actually my memo pad holder because it's something I use all the time and it's been very useful for me.

Are you originally from Lake Havasu City?

I'm originally from California but I got tired of the politics, traffic, and high cost of living. So I've been in Havasu going on four years now.

Do you offer workshops?

I did attempt a workshop in the past but due to the whole pandemic situation it didn't really pan out. I do want to plan another one sometime in the near future.

Where do you sell your works/how can we find your works?

I have sold items at the Farmers Market but most of my items are by commission. Most of my items can be seen on Facebook or Instagram.
